PAMSC - Unable to upgrade from PIM12.8SP1 "CAeAC is already installed in /opt/CA/AccessControl"

Issue/Introduction

Customer is planning to upgrade PIM12.8SP1 build 4038 to PAMSC 14.10.40.102. The upgrade report this error as below-

CAeAC is already installed in /opt/CA/AccessControl
error: %pre(CAeAC-1410-40.102.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
error: CAeAC-1410-40.102.x86_64: install failed
error: CAeAC-1281-1.0.4038.x86_64: erase skipped

As per documentation we can upgrade PAMSC from PIM 12.8SP1. Could you please help me to upgrade it. Thanks in advance.

 

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : PAM SERVER CONTROL ENDPOINT UNIX/LINUX

Cause

The pre-package RPM package cannot directly update Access Control to PAMSC.

Resolution

Prepare the RPM using the following command

./customize_eac_rpm -u /opt/CA -p AccessControl  CAeAC-1410-0.<VERSION Number>.x86_64.rpm

 

This will allow you to upgrade using the updated RPM package.
