Error while Masking xml file

Issue/Introduction

Trying to mask the xml using FDM but on connecting file it shows below error.

Error Message:

"error reading XML file E:/tdm/QA_umcompressed_snapshot.xml Start of root element expected."

 

Environment

Release : 4.9.1

Component : Fast Data Masker

Cause

The issue was with XML file which was having invalid root element. Since the XML file couldn't be validated even with the browser, the FDM tool also was unable to parse it. 

Resolution

After rectification of the root element, file could be used in the FDM tool and FDM parsed all tags available for masking.
