CA7 Data Provider install fails with "The program cannot run with the Alternate Library"

Issue/Introduction

Attempted to install this product, it is coded in REXX and the code is delivered compiled. The Installer fails with:

               The program cannot run with the Alternate Library

 

Can you ask the vendor to compile the code with the ALTERNATE option and resend ?

Resolution

The z/OS Data Providers for AAI R2.0 distribution does not support execution of the Server for AAI using the IBM Alternate Library for REXX, the full Library for REXX on IBM Z are required.  This is documented as a System Requirement in the manual.

 

System Requirements 

Important: The “Server for AAI” systems provided by the z/OS Data Providers for AAI R2.0 distribution  package requires the full Library for REXX on IBM Z® product installed and available to each LPAR where  an Instance of the “Server for AAI” will execute. The IBM Alternate Library for REXX does NOT support  executions of the “Server for AAI”.
