Issue/Introduction

Sinabox update from 3.9.3.1 to 3.9.4.3 causes multiple DIFFERENT TYPE MODEL Alarms on SINA L3 BOX S (1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27) models.

Environment

Release : 21.2

Component :

Resolution

The Secunet SINA Box upgraded to  Software 3.9.4.3 that were modeled with ModelType = SecunetDevice and Device type = SINA L3 BOX S have now Model Type = GnSNMPDev and Device Type = "secunet Security Networks AGRT"

The change of the Model Type is because the install of the new software version changed something on the mib and the System Object Id is now 1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27.0 instead of 1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27

As 1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27.0 was not defined in Spectrum, a new entry was added in the device certification with model type = GnSNMPDev.

As Spectrum found that the Model Type changed for the same device it generates a  "DIFFERENT TYPE MODEL" alarm.

Work-around:

In the Device Certification modify the Model Type of line with System Object id = 1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27.0 from GnSNMPDev into SecunetDevice (like the out of the box entry of Sina box system object id = 1.3.6.1.4.1.8299.4.3.1.27)

Additional Information

Customer should check with the vendor if it is correct that the upgrade of software will change the system object id in the mib as well as the content of OIDs that contain the Manufacturer (that now is blank) and the Device Type.
