How can I get alerts when jammer or event processing is delayed or failing in AAI?

Environment

Release : 6.4.2-2

Component : AUTOMIC AUTOMATION INTELLIGENCE ENGINE

Resolution

System Alerts can notify you if events are delayed in processing.

On the top right of the thick client, there is an exclamation point, click that.

Then select "Edit" and you will see all of the options for system alerts.

You could use "Jammer Late" or "Event processing delay", and they should alert you if either or is x number of minutes late.

  • Jammer late would just look at the JammerManager thread in the logs to see when the last Jammer cycle completed.
  • Event processing delay would look at the last time events were processed.

Usually events update with each jammer cycle so this is usually the same, but in a situation where CA7 files are not being received, the jammer would be still running, but the events wouldn't be updating.

You can check your jaws.log for messages like "JammerManager" to see how long a typical jammer cycle takes in  your environment and set the threshold to a number of minutes higher then that.

You can also enable the two "Back on Track" email alerts which could notify you if the delay has ended.
