"Installation failed, Error updating license" error while trying to install the license on MC

Issue/Introduction

Management Center VM displays the following error while user is trying to license it:

Environment

Installing license for the first time on new Management Center VM.

Cause

Management Center thinks there's another license download already in progress. The following errors are observed in log.log file:

[2022-08-24 08:13:43.628] ERROR http-nio-8080-exec-6  com.bluecoat.cm.platform.coe.CoeLicenseService Unable to update license com.bluecoat.clp.util.client.ClpServiceException: another license download already in progress
[2022-08-24 08:13:43.649] ERROR http-nio-8080-exec-6  ch.ralscha.extdirectspring.controller.RouterController Error calling method: updateLicenseFromData com.bluecoat.cm.client.cm.services.UiException: /BC/MC/CORE/LICENSE/INSTALL_FAILED: {msg=Error updating license}

Resolution

Reboot Management Center VM.
