Issue/Introduction

PAM Built-in RDP blocks many keyboard keys on Azure Virtual Desktop. Keys like Space, Period, Hyphen do not render. In addition, when access via RDP Proxy was configured  these keys worked correctly that is, these keys render properly. This document also shares a workaround.

 

Environment

Release : 4.x

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

A possible PAM issue that has been detailed in an engineering case #DE539784. 

Resolution

Workaround #1 --- Set "Enable Input Method Editor" to "On" and  set "Select remote Keyboard Layout" to "Others" as shown below

 

Workaround #2 ---Use RDP Proxy.  

 

 

Additional Information

As of writing this document Engineering case #DE539784 is filed for this issue. The workaround is the only available fix and definitive fix not known.
