CA Threat Analytics for PAM

Issue/Introduction

Unable to load our OVA available on our website for Threat Analytics 2.3 as DVD0000000000861.ova file because he was getting the error messages below on the Vmware console:

Issues detected with selected template. Details: - 53:7:VALUE_ILLEGAL: Value ''PIIX4'' of ResourceSubType element not found in []. - 62:7:VALUE_ILLEGAL: Value ''PIIX4'' of ResourceSubType element not found in []. - 71:7:VALUE_ILLEGAL: Value ''3'' of Parent element does not refer to a ref of type DiskControllerReference. - 81:7:VALUE_ILLEGAL: Value ''4'' of Parent element does not refer to a ref of type DiskControllerReference.

Environment

Release : 2.3

Component : PAM Threat Analytics

Cause

Thes external links shows the reason of these errors:

https://www.techcrumble.net/2018/04/vcenter-server-6-5-ovf-deployment-error-value_illegal-value-3-of-parent-element-does-not-refer-to-a-ref-of-type-diskcontrollerreference/

https://kb.printerlogic.com/s/article/Upload-of-OVA-file-on-ESXi-fails-with-error

But the main cause is because is using the old OVA from My Downloads page instead of "CA Privileged Access Manager Solutions & Patches" page.

The "CA Privileged Access Manager Solutions & Patches" contains the most recent version of .ova.

Resolution

Download the file PAMTA-2.3.0.ova.zip from CA Privileged Access Manager Solutions & Patches

This will be the pam-threat-analytics-2.3.0.10.ovf that have the Scsi entries in place of IDE Controller entries and should allow deploy on Vmware 7.
