Issue/Introduction
Message encountered:
TSS0403E CPF INACTIVE; COMMAND WILL NOT BE EXECUTED OR LOGGED
The System where the command was issued, is a Single Machine where no CPF is 'active'. There are other Systems that are connected via CPF, and Administrators use the 'TARGET(*)' keyword in Top Secret commands.
Resolution
Specify the CPFTARGET Control Option to set the Default for the TARGET Keyword:
CPFTARGET(*)
When this Control Option is specified:
There is no further need to specify 'TARGET(*)' on Top Secret commands, because it is now the Default.
If CPF is 'active' on the Node where the command is being issued, the command will be sent to the Local Node, and to all connected Nodes.
If CPF is not'active' on the Node where the command is being issued, the command will still be delivered to that Local Node, and executed there, and no error message, 'TSS0403E', will be issued.
