While installing Endpoint Protection Manager(SEPM) getting error-”Failed to update system configuration file”.

Issue/Introduction

When we try to install the fresh SEPM 14.3 RU5 getting the error ”Failed to update system configuration file” .

Environment

SEPM version. 14.3 RU5

 

Cause

There was issue with sql express installation, bcp.exe file was missing and there was one more installation instance at E drive.

Resolution

1. Copy the clientSDK folder from a working SEPM to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder

2. Run the Management Configuration Wizard.
