Jobs failing with error 'Aborted, code C0000005' or The environment is incorrect (WA agent)

Issue/Introduction

When running jobs on Windows WA Agents, user may see these errors:

Aborted, code C0000005
The environment is incorrect

 

Job output or joblog may not be created by the agent.  Agent logs will show error like this:

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : Workload Automation System Agent

Cause

The Windows kills agent process (su.exe) when it tries to load the User / System Environment variables.  If an environment variable has very large number (more than 2K or 2000) of characters then OS may not allow it to be loaded.

Resolution

Fix any environment or user variables that have very large number of characters, more that 2K.
