MCS vmware template alarm forwarding doesn't include message text in the alarm

Issue/Introduction

We are using MCS vmware profiles to forward vCenter alarms to UIM. We noticed that the UIM alarms do not include the message text as in vCenter. It doesn't include the vCenter message text.

In Infrastructure Manager you are able to change the 'Message Token' in the Alarm Forwarding configuration section, this functionality is missing inside the MCS profile.

This Missing funcionality prevents customer from using the MCS template for Remote Forwarding

Cause

The vmware MCS template Remote Forwarding does not support Message Token Forwarding in the alarm.

Resolution

An Enhancement feature exists for this: [F127289] VMware: MCS Template forwarding doesn't include message text in the alarm.

This enhancement will be fulfilled as part of MCS/alarm policy improvement for enterprise adoption.

The Tentative ETA is Q3 FY23.
