Issue/Introduction

Unable to uninstall a DLP detection server after a bad uninstall which removed the DLP directories but did not purge the RPM Database

Cause

Unable to remove the symantec-dlp-15-8-00000-detection-server package on RHEL.  "yum remove ..." or "rpm -e ..." returns an error

/opt/Symantec/DataLossPrevention/DetectionServer/15.8.00000/Protect/install/InstallCleanup: no such file or directory

Resolution

You can remove the package with yum with the argument to ignore scripts. 

 

yum --setopt=tsflags=noscripts remove symantec*
