Access for reading encrypted View reports Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

While testing on View encryption with Web Viewer, noticed that Web Viewer does not restrict the ability to view encrypted reports despite the user itself not having the ability to view the encrypted reports on the Mainframe.

I've confirmed this with a test user account with the access specified above (no access to encryption on Mainframe (CAOMPROD)) and I'm able to view any encrypted reports within Web Viewer without issue.This is recreatable.

What access would be needed to limit users to being able to access encrypted reports only if they have the relevant encryption permissions.

• Output Management View® for z/OS

Cause

Web Viewer 12.1 is working as designed.

Resolution

Product Management confirmed that this is working as designed and there are currently no plans to enhance this area of the product. 

You do have the option to open an idea out in the user community.  This will allow other customers to vote on the enhancement request.
