Issue/Introduction

On the New portfolio items Timeline page, we want to understand the logic better.

The "Not Started" indicator displays even when the Portfolio Item has a Story that rolls up to it with a Scheduled State of "Accepted." The Help article says the points are taken into consideration "if applicable" for the indicators. There are no Plan Estimate points on the Portfolio Item's child stories.

Based on the "if applicable" description in the Help article --> the users think the "Not Started" Indicator should disappear in this case.

So is this a bug? Or do the stories have to have points on them the get the "Not Started" indicator off when the story is moved to the Accepted state?

Environment

Release: SAAS

Component : SAAS

Cause

The user needs to know what trigger from Not Started flag in the timeline.

Resolution

The progress column on the timeline is based on the User story Plan Estimate field - Whenever the user story gets Accepted with plan estimate points it triggers the timeline progress.

So, if you have a user story without "Plan Estimate" or "Plan Estimate = 0" then the timeline in the portfolio item still shows "Not Started".
