Node not coming up after the patching activity

Issue/Introduction

After applying the OS patch, DU will not come up.
The following steps were taken:

unireorg was run,
all other applications were shut-down
ps -eaf | grep -i <port>   ; the port was listening

Environment

Release : 6.0

Component : DOLLAR UNIVERSE

Cause

Since the OS patch changed the system's Kernel, it requires regenerating a new kernel.

Resolution

A new system kernel is generated with a system reboot which will resolve the Dollar Universe problem of not coming up.
