Issue/Introduction

I set up a chart: one with a SQL query that returns the past 24 hours of a metric, one that returns the past 48 hours of the same metric, and a QPU usage QOS. Chart is set to display the past 6 hours. This is what I get:


This is obviously not correct.  Why does this happen?

Resolution

Per development this is a limitation of the way the SQL query datasource has been implemented.

The recommendation from L2 is essentially that if you are using a SQL datasource this way, it should be by itself in the list widget.  If you need multiple SQL series, especially with different durations, or need other types of series along with them, you will need multiple list widgets each with the duration set appropriately by the SQL query.
