After installing VAIM 12.9, in this case, the Japanese language version, it lists the version as 12.8:

You have the correct version (12.9) but the Japanese release has not had the version marker updated.
To confirm, check under:
Check Administration > CA Virtual Assurance Services
You should see the version there. For example:
