Issue/Introduction

Is any way to get the values of the parameters of archived instances in CA ITPAM from database, this information is being requested as part of the history to be protected.

Environment

Release : 4.3 and higher

Component : CA IT Process Automation

Resolution

This is not possible to achieve using direct DB access.

Process Automation is a workflow automation tool and is not meant be used for long term storage.  Any information that needs to be retained for more than a few weeks needs to be written outside of process automation.

Within the backend database, the content of interest would be stored as non-human readable xml blobs, which cannot be accessed directly.  One would need to find/open each instance within PAM itself and not via database query.
