Datamaker Version Incompatible error

Issue/Introduction

When launching Datamaker 4.9, getting the below error

"Test Data Repository version specified in database (4.8.0.8) is invalid.
This version of the software can work with Test Data Repository version 4.9 and above only.

In order to upgrade you will need to run TDM Portal.

If assistance is needed, please contact support"

Cause

The error is stating that the gtrep repository database is version 4.8.0.8, but the release of Datamaker that they are running requires a gtrep of 4.9 or above. So there's a mismatch in the version of gtrep and Datamaker.

Looks like pointed the ODBC connection to the wrong gtrep which might be to connecting to the old 4.8 repository and caused the issue.

Resolution

Normally upgrading the Datamker, or gtrep to the correct version, is how the issue would be corrected. In this issue it was user error, and trying to connect the 4.9 Datamaker to their old 4.8 repository.

 

Recreating the ODBC connection using the 32-bit ODBC driver to the correct 4.9 repository resolved the issue.
