Role For Higher Resolution is disabled message in NetOps Portal View

Issue/Introduction

The user presented is an Administrator, and I have added this role to the Administrator: Run Dashboards at Higher Resolution

When running a report we see the following:

DX NetOps Performance Management Dashboard shows warning message:

• Role right for higher resolution is disabled when using more than 12 trends for time range

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases r21.2.10+

Cause

Newly introduced feature in 21.2.10 which limits the number of items on a Multi-Trend View using High Resolution settings for larger time frames to no more than 12.

Resolution

When that message is observed, the Multi-Trend report should still complete with data if data is present.

When that message is observed, the resulting completed report should complete while reverting the configured Resolution setting back to default. For example a report against the default Last 14 Days Time Frame would default to Hourly data samples.

To avoid the message ensure any reports using High Resolution configurations are running against 12 or fewer items, or use the default resolution on the view.

Best practice recommendations:

• Avoid using Multi-Trend Views with more than 12 Trend charts/Items in one View when using reports with large time frames and non-default High Resolution role right features.
• When using Multi-Trend Views configure them with the time frames Default Resolution and the View will support up to 36 Trends/Items per View.
