Manually enabling tenancy in Service Catalog

Issue/Introduction

While the existing documentation describes how to enable multi-tenancy via the Administrative Service Offerings, this document describes the manual steps needed in a Catalog instance to do the same (Service Desk integration tenancy needed).

Environment

Release:  17.3 and higher

CA Service Catalog integrated with Service Desk Manager

Resolution

Multi Tenancy enablement

SDM Side steps need to be perform

  1. Administration > Option manager > Multi tenancy > install > refresh > Edit again and > ON (Multi tenancy)
  2. Restart SDM server
  3. Login > Administration > Security and Role Management > Tenants > Add Tenants (SP1 > SP2 > SP3)

Catalog Side steps need to be perform

  1. Login > Administration > Business Units > Add sub Bus under Main BU

Example: ca > ca1 > ca2

  1. Launch usm.cmd under Catalog server Home (%USM_HOME%) (Login to the Server)
  2. Run ant generate-merge-config
  3. Open merge-config.conf and edit the BU with inline both SDM and Catalog (mapping)
  4. Run merge-tenants
  5. Once successfully merged BU’s then launch catalog URL follow the below steps
  6. Administration > Configuration > System Information
  7. Make Common Multi-tenant Administration Enabled is YES
