Issue/Introduction

Received message "Error 1069: The service did not start due to a login failure" in GSS due to the "Altiris Deployment Server DB Management" service failing to start:

The Event Viewer's System log also records this same error:

Environment

GSS 3.x

DS 8.x

Cause

The account being used by the "Altiris Deployment Server DB Management" service was not allowing the service to properly start.

Resolution

Identified the account being used by the "Altiris Deployment Server DB Management" service and resolved the problem so that the service would properly start.
