12.1 Web Viewer uses DRAS Access for reading encrypted View reports

Issue/Introduction

While conducting testing on View encryption with Web Viewer, we've noticed that Web Viewer does not restrict the ability to view encrypted reports despite the user itself not having the ability to view the encrypted reports on the Mainframe.

I've confirmed this with a test user account with the access specified above (no access to encryption on Mainframe (CAOMPROD)) and I'm able to view any encrypted reports within Web Viewer without issue.

I was wondering what access we'd need to establish so that we could limit users to only being able to access encrypted reports if they have the relevant encryption permissions?

Resolution

Web Viewer 12.1 is working as designed. In other words, any user will be able to view reports that have enabled data encryption in VIEW to encrypt report data and report index data.
