When upgrading the Automation Engine within the same major version (for example 12.3.3 to 12.3.8), is it possible to keep the CallAPI, like the Linux CallAPI) on the older service pack? Are there any issues with compatibility?
Release : 12.x
Component : CallAPI and AUTOMATION ENGINE
In general as long as they're on the same major version (like 12.3), the only components that absolutely must be the same service pack are the Automation Engine, utilities, initialdata, and AWI. The CallAPI and Agents are okay to be lower or higher than the AE within the same version. That said, Broadcom always tests internally with everything on the latest release when we test for new service packs.
The best thing to do would be to check the release notes for any bugs between the CallAPI service pack currently in use and the automation engine component service pack that will be used.
No matter what, the recommendation is to always have all components on the same service pack as quickly as possible.
