Can I export Symantec Endpoint Security policy data from the cloud console to disk?

Issue/Introduction

You would like to know if you can export Symantec Endpoint Security policy data from the cloud console to disk, either for backup, or to upload to a different cloud tenant.

Resolution

The policy export functionality for Symantec Endpoint Security works only for exporting policy data from one domain to another domain within the same tenant.

You can retrieve policy data in JSON format from the cloud console via the REST API, using the policy commands available here:

Symantec Endpoint Security (SES) Policy Command API

At this time, policy data cannot be imported via the REST API. As such, policy data retrieved in this way cannot be uploaded to a different cloud tenant; you must re-create your policy data manually.
