Migration WA_Agent 11.5 to v12 fails: install or upgrade the "WA_AGENT" agent. The agent installer return code is "255"

Issue/Introduction

Because we had issues during migration Server 11.3.6S7 to v12 we went for the approach : deïnstall v11 and fresh install v12.

This worked fine also for all the WA_Agents v11.4.

1 WA_Agent was at v11.5.  This one could not be deïnstalled with the iso's WASYSAGT1150000.iso(v11.5) or Autosys-Linux-only.iso(v11.4) .  So I removed the folder via "rm -rf /opt/CA/*".

Next I started the install of v12 which failed with the next message :

[CAUAJM_W_116414] Unable to install or upgrade the "WA_AGENT" agent. The agent installer return code is "255".

 

Previous version running :

$ ./cybAgent.bin -v

Environment

Component : System Agent (Autosys)

Resolution

Based on Session, We have upgraded System Agent to R12 successfully by following below actions:

- Removed everything /opt/CA/*

- Removed WAAE* startup scripts from /etc/init.d

-  Removed /etc/profile.CA 

- Performed the install again and able to successfully install.

Note: Validate these folders and Take Back Up of CA folder and Startup Scripts to ROLLBACK. Raise a Support Case If needed Support Advise.
