I would like to upgrade Roscoe ahead of the z/OS upgrade? Can I do it?
Release: ALL
Component: ROSCOE
You may apply Roscoe maintenance required for the z/OS upgrade before the actual upgrade. The ROSGBL and ROJES2XT can be prepared ahead of time, but cannot be put into production before the z/OS upgrade.
ROSGBL can be assembled and linked using a new name. Make sure you use the ROSGBL source that supports the new z/OS level. ROSGBL must be assembled and linked with the correct macro libraries for the new z/OS level.
The new name can be then be specified by the ROSCOE ROSGBL= parameter after you upgrade.
You can assemble the ROJES2XT now. ROJES2XT must be assembled and linked with the correct macro libraries for the new z/OS level. When you assemble it, the load module will be linkedited into the Roscoe load library.
When you are ready to move to the new z/OS level, you will have to copy ROJES2XT from the RO60LIN, the Roscoe load library, to a linklisted load library.
Note: The RO60LIB should not be linklisted.
