Issue/Introduction

We restarted the SpectroSERVER and when it started there were thousands of Different Model Type alarms.

Environment

Release : 21.2

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Cause

An invalid system object id was entered into the Device Certification gui

Resolution

You need to find the invalid system object id that was entered into the Device Certification gui and delete it or fix it.

Launch the Device Certification Gui and search for all Custom entries.  Remove/fix the incorrect System Object Id.

For this instance the system oid that was causing this issue was:

1.3.64.1.318

This is incorrect.  The system object id needs to be at least 7 objects.  For example:

1.3.6.1.4.1.318

Once you have removed/fixed the incorrect system object id you will need to stop and restart ALL SpectroSERVERs as the device map is only reloaded on SS startup.

This will be resolved in NetOps Spectrum 22.2.1 and above so that if an incorrect object id is entered Spectrum will not load it.

Additional Information

Patch PTF_21.2.12 also has the code change so that if an incorrect object id is entered Spectrum will not load it.
