Issue/Introduction

The "LDAP Synchronize - Synchronize New and Changed Users" & "LDAP - Synchronize Obsolete Users Job" fails even though the same configuration worked prior to an upgrade.

Resolution

Depending on how the LDAP server is configured, the characters listed to the left of the "=" sign in the root context may need to be changed from uppercase letters to lowercase, or lowercase to uppercase.

  1. Log into the CA PPM System Administration (CSA) application
  2. Click on the server name
  3. Navigate to the security page listed under the Properties tab
  4. Change all of the lowercase letters to the left of the "=" to be in capital letters (IE: dc= to DC=, ou= to OU=, cn= to CN=) under root context or change to lower case letters.
  5. Save the changes
  6. Restart the application and background services
  7. Run the LDAP synchronization jobs again
