Performance of the Create and Update Jaspersoft Users job

Issue/Introduction

Create and Update Jaspersoft Users job takes a long time to compete for large dataset. 

Example :

2752 user records were processed in 1 hour
2752 records = 1 hour
12620 records ~ 5 hours

Note these results are heavily data dependent and may not match exactly to what you are seeing. 

 

This issue is applicable to all database vendors and the difference in performance will be different in each.

Environment

Release : 16.0.x, 16.1.0

Cause

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login Clarity environment which has 12k+ active users
2. Navigate to Reports and Jobs and run the Create and Update Jaspersoft users job with/without selecting the parameters

Actual: The job takes 5+ hours to complete and gets stuck at times.

 

Resolution

This is a known enhancement request and Engineering is working on optimizing this job performance.
