APM 10.8
Windows 2016 and 2019
New installation of APM EM 10.8 fails on Postgresql installation.
After entering the Postgres password in the installer it does not continue to install Postgresql. Please see the attached screenshots.
Release : 10.8
Component : Introscope
Please try to install Postgres before you install the APM 10.8
I am speculating that there are several reasons for the issues that you are having
1) You may not have seen the lines in the APM 10.8 compatibility guide that I attached. It states
APM 10.8 installer doesn't support the install of Postgres DB any more. |
OS for this DB install should be the one supported by DB vendor |
You MUST install Postgres BEFORE installing APM . APM NO LONGER includes Postgres in the installer. Was this done? If so, what was the results and please attach the Postgres logs
2) You are using an unsupported Postgres release and are reluctant to let me know. Please install
9.6.2 |
11 |
13.4, 13.6, 13.7 |
BEFORE installing APM
3) You are unable to find the APM install log/Postgres log
On my system Postgres logs are in
C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\9.6\data\pg_log
And Introscope install logs
C:\Program Files\CA APM\Introscope10.8.0.27\install, there is Introscope_10.8.0.27_InstallLog
***
1) Compatibility Guide
You should not need it since I have included in multiple emails . But is under file attachments From Broadcom.
The documentation has a link to the compatibility guide
That leads to
Download APM 10.8
Look under APM Components>APM Database
You will see
APM DATABASE
POSTGRES
VERSION NOTES
9.6.2 APM 10.8 installer doesn't support the install of Postgres DB any more.
11 OS for this DB install should be the one supported by DB vendor
13.4, 13.6, 13.7
2) Download Postgres Windows installer.
Looking at https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloads/postgres-postgresql-downloads
I only see two supported releases
11.16,13.7
(9.6.22 should work. Usually major versions are most important. But unclear if supported. I am not sure what 9.6 release. I have.)
Doc bug to be submitted for omissions.
