catalogsync.log and mail_nxd.log with over 10gb of disc space

what can we do so both log files catalogsync.log and mail_nxd.log does not increase that much?
Seems that both files are not adhering to the configuration set on the site\cfg\log4j.properties and site\cfg\logback.xml files
