catalogsync.log and mail_nxd.log with over 10gb of disc space

Issue/Introduction
What can we do so both log files catalogsync.log and mail_nxd.log increase?
Seems that both files are not adhering to the configuration set on the site\cfg\log4j.properties and site\cfg\logback.xml files
Environment
Release : 17.3.X
Component : SDM - XTraction
Resolution
There is a workaround for this issue:
1) Stop the SDM services.
2) Rename both the log files catalogsync.log and mail_nxd.log
3) Start the SDM services.
This will create new set of log files.
