Attached are upgrade, backout, and validation plans for performing a View-only upgrade.

Resolution

The client created the following plans:

Implementation:
1. Bring down the View Archival STCs
2. Take backup of View Databases(DBs) and Index Files using SARDBASE UNLOAD
3. Add V14.0 SYS2A.CAVIEW.V14.CVDELOAD Runtime Library to APF and also in Steplib of below jobs and in View Archival STCs
4. Version the View DBs to 14.0
5. Perform OLOAD to View DBs using V14.0 CVDEPENU Runtime
6. Perform BLOAD to View DBs using V14.0 CVDEDATA Runtime
7. Set Updated New Initialization Parms to View DBs using SARINIT
8. Bring up the View Archival STCs
9. After Successful Validation, Copy the V14.0 SYS2A.CAVIEW.V14.CVDELOAD to Standard View Linklist Runtime, Remove STEPLIB in STCs and IPL the system

Backout:
1. Bring down the View Archival STCs
2. Version the View DB to V12.2 using V14.0 SYS2A.CAVIEW.V14.CVDELOAD Runtime
3. Perform OLOAD to View DB using V12.2 CVDEPENU and CVDELOAD Runtimes
4. Perform BLOAD to View DB using V12.2 CVDEDATA and CVDELOAD Runtimes
5. Set back to the Initialization Parms that was used at V12.2 using V12.2 CVDELOAD SARINIT
6. Remove the V14.0 CVDELOAD Runtime from Steplib of View Archival STCs
7. Bring up the View Archival STCs

Validation:
1.Linklist and APF check
2.Check the below View STCs:
CAVIEW  
CAVIEWSS   
CAVIEW2-In Stage and Prod only
3.Run SARINIT job to verify the Initialization Parameters and compare with 12.2
4.Submit test jobs to send a sysout to CAVIEW, CAVIEWSS and CAVIEW2
5.Panel check
 . Browse Sysouts on Disk
 . Use Option J - to submit a batch job to print a sysout to spool
 . Use Online Print function Option P - to print the sysout to the User TSO address space
 . Use option L - to retrieve a sysout from tape to Intermediate Disk level(PTMP)
