Issue/Introduction

Is there is any way to extend the password history beyond 4 passwords without using the info storage database?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

The current password plus 3 previous ones are stored in LID record for default password history option.

There is no another option to extend the password history beyond 4 passwords without using the extended password history option which stores passwords in INFOSTG database as a User Profile record.

There is an outdated option to use Note 12.

With this option, AES128 or AES encryption cannot be used and it also limits the space in LID record.
