Issue/Introduction

We activated a VNA instance with a configured VeloCloud Plugin which changed ips of pre existing SNMP devices.

Using VNA 21.2.9 with Spectrum 21.2.8

Environment

Release : All

Component : Virtual Network Assurance For CA Spectrum

Cause

This is not related to the API, it's related to Edge configuration. 2 VCEs have the same IP address and it supports SNMP for one VCE.

Resolution

Disable SNMP Modeling

From 10.4.2.2, you can disable SNMP model devices from SDN Manager. By default, Disable SNMP Modeling option is set to NO. If you Enable VNA integration with Disable SNMP Modeling option as NO, all the devices which are SNMP reachable get modeled as SNMP model. When DX VNA integration is disabled all DX VNA models except SNMP are deleted.

If you re-enable the integration with DX VNA with the Disable SNMP Modeling option as NO, Since SNMP models are already existing, models are reconciled and not duplicated. Enable DX VNA integration with the Disable SNMP Modeling option as YES, devices that are SNMP reachable are modeled as virtual models and duplicate models for the same IP are created (No reconciliation).
Irrespective of Disable SNMP Modeling option, SPINE, and LEAF switches are modeled as SNMP only.
