IDMS

Issue/Introduction

One of our DBA team members has the following question:

When we make changes to our production IDMS applications, we move just load modules, or we copy the entire dictionary.  The load modules are built in our QA CV which we recently upgraded to CAR2102.   While our production CVs are still running with CAR1703.

Our COBOL compile and link process is still using the CAR1703 loadlib.  However, the ADS and map generations are done under CAR2102.

We are not using any new features.

Is there any reason for concern?  Do we really need to run compiles with the old loadlib?

Environment

Release : 19.0

Component : ADS

Resolution

There are no new features in 2102 for IDMS. The Only PTF in 2102 is :

SO15370

Description:
SECURITY VIOLATIONS USING R19.0 VERSION OF RHDCSSFM

There is no need to recompile with the old 1703 LOADLIB
