Issue/Introduction

Please clarify exactly what the IMPACT statement that PTF LU05960 will fix.

"The job or STC has to be cancelled. A resubmit of the job may work if the initial abend condition was resolved"

1. Can this happen with any abend condition or specific situations?

2. If the abend is resolved - we still may be unable to restart the job?   

3.  Will there be a risk of Endevor being left corrupt?

Resolution

1. Can this happen with any abend condition or specific situations?

The abend has to happen when Endevor has recursively switched to the alternate id and back on the same TCB. This means that e.g. processor execution is NOT affected.

Unfortunately, Development/SE cannot provide a list of specific abend conditions that would trigger the abend loop.

2. If the abend is resolved - we still may be unable to restart the job?

   In all cases that I was able to test, the restarted job ran successfully.

3.  Will there be a risk of  Endevor being left corrupt?

  In all cases that I was able to test, there had been no data corruption. However, there's no 100% guarantee.
