Issue/Introduction

The OLP task code shows many messages with the text "PLAN0001" and other unprintable characters similar to this:

13:15 2$ ;C 2F V1.1PLAN0001 % RHDCSNON
13:15 & 4$ ;C 2F V1.1PLAN0001 % ADSORUN1

Environment

Release: All supported releases.
Component: Task Analyzer.

Cause

This can happen after an upgrade from a previous release of IDMS or after re-formatting the DDLDCRUN queue area. The PLAN0001 messages are task statistics collected by IDMS Task Analyzer and written to the IDMS log for batch reporting. The default option when IDMS Task Analyzer is first installed is to write these statistics to the IDMS log.

Resolution

Turn off the writing of these statistics to the IDMS log using the USFAOPT task code and modifying the WRITE CONTROL option LOG FILE to N.

This is the screen displayed by the USFAOPT task code, the LOG FILE option is in the WRITE CONTROL section:

The IDMS Task Analyzer options are stored in a queue record named "TASK_ANALYZER_12". If this queue is deleted or the DDLDCRUN are is formatted the options will be lost and will need to be set again.

To continue writing these statistics to the log, they can be suppressed in OLP by using the command NOTR in OLP or invoking OLP with "OLP NOTR".
