Cause

Has there been an OS upgrade on either the host or remote recently?

 

Indeed. The host at IBM was upgraded to V7R3M0.

 The configurations looks like this:

 Current/ live configuration at Avon:

 AR01AS03 host             V7R1M0           

SA00AR01 receiver       V7R1M0

 Testing configuration at IBM:

 ARxxxx04 host             V7R3M0 clone of ARxxxS03   

SAxxx01 receiver      V7R1M0 clone of SAxxxx01

 

Resolution

Step 1. 

1.  Option 46. Network Configuration from main menu

2.  Select host entry with option 2

3.  Change Target release parameter to lowest OS for host and all receivers

4.  Verify all receivers for this host are at same lowest level

5.  Can be changed back to *CURRENT when all systems are upgraded to same OS level

 You will need to delete this request and create a new request.

Step 2.

Change the data area IMMULTRQS to *YES

Go into menu option #3-Create Request

F11 to copy a request

1-Select request AD09  

Enter, you may need to F9

Check in #12-Request inquiry for your request

If it is in Compile pend – you can submit it in menu option #4

If it is Move-Pend, menu option #5 can be used to submit

If the request is successful, change the IMMULTRQS data area back to *NO

 

 

 

Additional Information

After following provided instructions, the distribution failed because the connection to the receiver was down, the connection was started and then it failed again for what was suggested to change all system's Target Release to V7R1M0 in Step #1 above and… it worked!
