Does DX NetOps Performance Management use postgres rpm packages?

Issue/Introduction

Are postgresql-libs and postgresql packages needed on any of the PM servers (DA,DC and DR)? Linux team is planning on removing them.

Can the Linux rpm packages for postgresql and postgresql-libs be removed from DX NetOps Performance Management systems? This includes:

• The Console Portal web UI server
• The Data Aggregator and it's Proxy when Fault Tolerance is configured
• The Data Collector(s)
• The Data Repository nodes

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Cause

Security team seeking to remove unnecessary packages installed on Linux hosts.

Resolution

These are not used by DX NetOps Performance Management and are safe to remove.

Additional Information

CABI, an available reporting integration for DX NetOps Spectrum, uses postgres. Removal may impact its operation.
