Error code 7 while trying to activate license

Issue/Introduction

The Information Centric Analytics (ICA) installer is unable to proceed because of an error with activating the license (error code 7).

Additional information is logged in the RiskFabric installer log, which is located in the following path:

%SystemDrive%\ProgramData\BayDynamics\Logs

The log file is named in the following format:

RiskFabric.Installer.yyyymmdd.log

The log entry is:

[1:ERROR] SymantecLicensingService.Activate() SLIC activate unsuccessful 7

Resolution

To resolve this error, copy the license file (.SLF) to the license repository path:

%ProgramData%\Symantec Shared\Licenses\

After doing this, the installation can proceed and complete.
