Issue/Introduction

When SMP/E attempts to assemble TMSCLEN2 from PTF LU05200, assembler errors are generated:

(20) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE. DATE 22.175 - TIME 15:50:55.

And further down in the output:

** ASMA057E UNDEFINED OPERATION CODE - CTMBGN
** ASMA044E UNDEFINED SYMBOL - R5

The following is supplied as input to SMP/E for the APPLY:

APPLY
BYPASS(HOLDSYS)
SOURCEID(HIPER,PRP,CAR*)
ASSEM
COMPRESS(ALL) GROUP
RETRY(YES)

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA 1 Tape Management

Cause

SMP/E is attempting to assemble newly introduced modules TMECLEN2 (and potentially TMECLEN3), but should not be.

Resolution

To successfully APPLY PTF LU05200, the SMP/E 'ASSEM' keyword should not be specified (SMP/E should not be forced to assemble newly introduced modules of this PTF). Also, some problems involving this PTF will be fixed with future CA1 PTF(s).
