Issue/Introduction

A sporadic behavior is observed on PAM Appliance  especially when trying to stage a new PAM patch to be applied. This sporadic behavior can also be encountered while merely browsing through the PAM UI.  The screenshot shows the PAM UI Configuration screen with the message "unauthorized access. Click here to login" . Note just by refreshing the screen one can get rid of the screen below temporarily, but the issue can show up again post the refresh.

 

Environment

Release : 3.x, 4.x

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

A second VM is configured with the same IP and it caused a conflict on the network leading to connection resets. 

Resolution

Shut down the identified erroneous server that is found configured on same IP where PAM appliance was configured. Essentially, post shutting down the erroneously configured server actions such as uploading and installing of the new patches and browsing the PAM UI will not encounter this sporadic issue.
