Issue/Introduction

Maintenance backout procedures are required should anything go awry with applying ACF2 maintenance. Is the updated version of CAX1LPA “downward compatible" to the prior maintenance level?

Resolution

In regards to LPA, there is not a “downward compatibility" for the ACF2 CAX1LPA library. The exact method to back out changes will depend on the ACF2 maintenance being put on. If the maintenance HOLDDATA instructions state that an IPL is required, then a re-IPL is required in order to backout changes. This is usually because ACF2 holds addresses of modules in storage that cannot be reset dynamically by using the SETPROG LPA,ADD command.
