How to convert urc video file to wmv or avi format ?

Issue/Introduction

To read a .urc video file RC Viewer must be installed.

If the video should be played on a computer without RC Viewer installed, .urc file could be converted to wmv or avi format.

How to convert urc video file to wmv or avi format ?

Resolution

On a computer with RC Viewer installed :

 

1- Right click on the .urc file and select "Export to video"

 

 

If "No Windows Media video codecs are installed" message is displayed, it means that Windows Media Player is not installed on the computer. video could not be converted in wmv format (and only .avi format).

See "Additional Information" section for instructions on how to install it on Windows. 

Click OK

 

 

2- Select the Target File format (WMV or AVI) and Video compression codec

 

Example :

AVI with no compression

 

 

 

WMV with codec Windows Medi Video 9

 

3- Click Start and the output file is created.

In Server Manager, Add the feature "Desktop Experience" under "User Interfaces and Infrastructure" and reboot the server.
