Issue/Introduction

If there a jobs currently running on an agent and the agent service is shut down, what happens to the running jobs?

Environment

Release : 11.3.6/12.0/12.0.01

Component : AutoSys Workload Automation

Resolution

Stopping the agent will not kill any jobs that are running. If a running job is still running on the machine when the agent is restarted, the agent regains control of the job and will report back completion as normal when it occurs. However, if a running job completes while the agent is down, or a cold restart of the agent is performed, the agent will not be able to regain control of the job when it is brought back up. Therefore, the agent will report back a failure for the job, even if it completed successfully. The failure will look like this in the Scheduler log...
