Issue/Introduction

We have two test LPARS and bring them down around 7:00 pm.

While test LPARS (eg. YYYY) are getting FREEd, we receive a MIM abend on one of the production LPARs (eg. DDDD).

Cause

Based on the logs and configuration, the problem appears to be timing related.

Following the guidance in the documentation for message MIM0112E, the code=1 or 2 can result if:

A hardware or system failure on another system caused a malfunction in RESERVE processing
Either CA MII’s GDIF facility or IBM’s Global GRS is converting the MIMGLOBL qname inconsistently across all systems in the abending MIMPLEX.
A MIC/MIA address space is started before the MII address space is synchronized, and MII is converting the MIMGLOBL qname

Resolution

Ensure that when you shutdown the MII and MIA address spaces, MIA task is shutdown prior to the MII task.
