Data Compression on IMS-managed ACBs Environment

Issue/Introduction

Compress Data Compression is not supported for compression of IMS-managed ACBs with the exception of the Express component.

Why FDT compression will not be available to use with IMS-managed ACBs environment?
IMSHRINK needs SEGCC coding included DBD, however in IMS-managed ACBs environment would not be allowed such non-standard DBD?

Resolution

It is correct, Compress Data Compression using IMSHRINK compression routine is currently not supported in IMS-managed ACBs environment.

The SEGCC statement in DBD is the reason. 
We have a long-term development plans to add this support to IMS Tools.
