How to make the fields in Self Service Form as Optional?

Issue/Introduction

This article will provide information on how to make the fields in Self Service Form as Optional when they are created from Modeling/Generator/ARD Flow?

Environment

Release : 4.10.x.0

Component : TDM Portal

Cause

Configuration need to be changed for the specific variable to be optional in TDM Portal.

Resolution

In TDM Portal, the Self Service Form fields are available in Modelling->Variables. To make them as Optional fields, the variables need to be edited and select the Optional check box at the bottom of the screen.

For example, btw_confirmation field in the below screenshot need to be make it as optional otherwise form will through an error if no value is provided..

 

Goto TDM Portal-->Modeling-->Variables, click on the btw_configuration variable and selected the Optional option as in the below screenshots which made the btw_configuration as optional field.

Then got Self Service Catalog and select New request for the specific form and btw_confirmation will show as optional field instead of mandatory field as in the below screenshot.
